It's the most WONDERFUL time of the YEAR!!!

My favorite commercial on tv right now is the commercial advertising back to school supplies. I can hear it in my mind, "It's the MOST WONDERFUL time of the YEAR!" As a former teacher, I remember when I heard that commercial my heart would sink knowing that my "freedom of summer" was about over. HOWEVER, now that I am a stay-at-home wife and mom my heart springs into JOY! :) I have enjoyed my time with my kids but it is always nice to return to a routine and a more normal way of life. This entertainment committee member is TIRED!!

I guess I don't have it that bad for these last few days until school begins (14 to be exact)! My kids went on a 7 day vacation with my parents in their new motorcoach. (Hardly suffering!!) How wonderful to have time ALL TO MYSELF!! (and my hubby of course!) After giving my house a thorough cleaning, you will find me at my sewing machine. I have many projects that I want to create and now I have the TIME to do it!!

Baby Burp Cloths

Baby Burp Cloths
I have been wanting to make some burp cloths and didn't know anyone having a baby. I am so glad that Wendy asked me to make her some for her sister-in-law! Great excuse to go fabric shopping!

Quilting at 40?

Quilting at 40?
YES! I love it! If you would have told me a year ago that I would've been quilting...I would have never guessed it. This is only 1 square of the Crazy Compass Quilt that I am participating in at Nimble Thimble. You can find the Crazy Compass pattern on the right hand side of my blog.

Christmas in July?

Christmas in July?
I participated in an "Art to Heart" class and we made these tea towels for gifts at Christmas. This was sooo much fun!

Rylie's Book Bag

Rylie's Book Bag
This was one of my first monogramming projects. It is monogrammed in a metallic purple thread. Sooo cute! This would be a great birthday gift. I believe you can pick this up at Wal-Mart for around $12.00.

Laura

This was a project from one of my first Art to Heart classes at Nimble Thimble. I ended up making 3 of these towels because they make great gifts!

This tea towel came all the way from Canton. Laura bought it for a friend for her birthday. The monogram makes it personal!

Sewing With Christie

Sewing With Christie
I knew who Christie was because she is a Stampin Up! consultant and because her kids/my kids attend Grace Community. So, when I saw her at Nimble Thimble we became fast friends. Christie made this tea towel "Give A Hoot!" as one of her first creations at Art to Heart. I was extremely jealous because she did an awesome job! I've completed several little projects and hers still looked better than mine! :) Because Christie has helped me on so many projects, I monogrammed her towel for her. Loved it!

Emma's Pillowcase

Emma's Pillowcase
I wanted Emma to have something monogrammed since I monogrammed Anna's bag. Bayli and Blake picked out the fabric for her pillowcase. They wanted to capture the theme of soccer along with a fun and whimsical pattern.
